Honing Home

Located on the third floor of a multi residential building in Melbourne, Australia the Toorak Penthouse is suspended in a green canopy of trees with views over the mossy, patinaed rooftops of the surrounding, historic architecture. Although elevated, Design Studio, Heartly have carefully assigned material and form, to create a home that feels grounded and connected to the streetscape.

Alighting the lift, one is transported into a Manhattan inspired apartment where the layering of materials, furniture, and objects embodies and imparts a deeply personal narrative of the residents’ lives.
Natural materials born of the earth, ground a lighter more transparent and ephemeral palette of soft whites, patinas and translucency. The result is a home that is sophisticated while remaining inviting,
immersive, and intimate.

Articolo’s Collection of Lighting and Furniture is honed to reveala simplicity of form, a timeless modernity that defies trends and endures time; they traverse function to become intrinsically woven with our memory of home.

‘The existing home had a casual feel, with a light material palette used throughout, our aim was to shift towards a substantial and sophisticated aesthetic with dark timbers, richer colours and depth.’
